As many of you may have seen me share recently, our team at Found Local Company and its sister company, Simplified SEO Consulting, had the opportunity to take a retreat together in person. We spent seven to eight days as a group, and for some of us, it was the very first time we had ever met face-to-face. Even though we work closely every week, we have hired new team members this year who we have only ever known through video calls, Chat messages, and Monday meetings.

Being together in the same space was exciting, meaningful, and honestly a powerful reminder of something I believe deeply: personal connection is what drives real success. Not just in business, but in life. The retreat gave us the chance to slow down, share meals, laugh together, talk about the future, and strengthen the kind of relationships that simply cannot be built through screens alone.

We meet weekly. We have monthly water cooler hours where we simply spend time together. But nothing replaces sitting across from someone, sharing space, laughing, and connecting in a way that screens cannot replicate.

Having the opportunity to spend over a week with the people who make this business possible is something I cherish deeply.

What Is the Biggest Lesson I Took From This Retreat?

The biggest lesson is that authenticity strengthens everything. When people feel supported, they show up differently. When relationships are built on trust, growth becomes sustainable. When connection is prioritized, success becomes meaningful.
